Description
Nos. 80 and 81 on Brandon Road are a pair of estate houses built around 1860. They are constructed from whole flints with gault brick dressings and feature a slate roof. The houses are one storey with an attic and consist of four bays. Two of these bays have full-height porch entrances, each topped with gabled roofs supported by large kneelers. The porches have four-centred arches leading to recesses with plank and muntin doors. Above the doorways, there are recessed terracotta plaques, and each porch gable-head includes a 2-light lattice metal window. Between the porches, there are two 2-light lattice metal casements. The gabled roof has a central ridge stack with triple diamond flues. At the rear, there is an outshut that projects to the right, and the left elevation now features a late 20th-century external stack against the main wall.
