Description

Nos. 1 and 2 on Gaskell Avenue are a pair of houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick and topped with a slate roof, featuring a double-pile plan. The houses are two storeys high and have a two-window range. The outer doorways include a six-panelled door set in a moulded architrave on the left, while an early 20th-century part-glazed porch has been added to the right. The right side has 16-pane sash windows, and the left side has inserted casements with transoms, all of which have flat-arched rendered heads. There is an arched entry to a passageway on the right, a moulded eaves cornice, and an axial stack. The interior has not been inspected.
