Description
The White Bear Public House is a building that likely started as a dwelling, dating from the late 16th century but refurbished in the early 20th century. It features mock timberwork and render over a timber frame, topped with a thatched roof. The structure has two storeys and is laid out in a main range with a cross-wing plan. There is a doorway located in the left-hand angle of the central range, which backs onto a stack. Each floor of the wings and the main range has three-light casement windows. The upper storey displays mock framing, jettied in the right-hand wing, with square panels and tension bracing that may reflect the original framing style underneath. A stack is positioned at the inner angle of the right-hand wing and against the rear wall. The interior has not been inspected.
