Description

A late 18th-century house with early 19th-century alterations, originally incorporating two shops. The building is constructed of brick with stucco detailing, and has a pantiled roof with raised brick tumbled gables and one brick gable stack. It has an irregular three-bay front of three stories. The ground floor features a stucco plinth, along with bands and rusticated quoins to the upper floors. The central entrance has a half-glazed panelled door above which is a five-pane overlight, set within a wooden doorcase with pilasters, a plain frieze and a pediment. Flanking the entrance are two early 19th-century shopfronts, each with a half-glazed panelled door and a four-light shop window defined by simple wooden pilasters that terminate in scrolled brackets supporting a dentillated cornice. On the first floor are two sliding sash windows with rusticated stucco lintels featuring raised keystones. The second floor has three fixed glazing bar windows beneath the eaves.
