Description

The building is a late 18th-century shop with alterations from the late 19th century and 20th century. It is located on the west side of Market Place in Alford. The shop is constructed of red brick, with the front rendered and faced with stucco. It has a slate roof and a single brick ridge stack. The building is three storeys high and has a three-bay front. There is a stucco plinth and quoins on the front. To the left of the ground floor is a half-glazed door with a plain overlight, flanked by a pair of large rectangular shop windows with wooden pilasters and brackets to a moulded cornice. To the right is a single sash window with glazing bars. There are three similar windows to both the first and second floors. All windows have broad moulded stucco architraves.
