Description

No. 5 High Street is a shop built around 1700, with significant alterations made in the late 19th century. The building features lined stucco and brick construction, topped with a pantile roof that has brick coped gables and a single gable stack. It is two stories tall and has a four-bay front with a plinth. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a wooden surround, a hood, and a decorative overlight, flanked by triple shop windows on either side. On the first floor, there are four glazing bar sash windows. An early photograph indicates that the central door was originally located in the right-hand bay before the building was converted into a shop. This listing is included for its group value only.
