Description

This early to mid-19th century shop and dwelling is located on Bridge Street, Buckingham. The building is constructed of brick with a stucco render, incised with patterns resembling stonework. The roof is covered in pantiles, and there are brick internal and end stacks. It has a double-depth plan and presents a three-storey, four-window façade.

The ground floor features a 19th-century shop front that extends across most of the width, incorporating a part-glazed door with an overlight, and a similar, currently unused door on the far right. The shop windows are divided into three lights by thin, moulded wooden uprights, each with a single horizontal glazing bar and a Tudor-arched head. A six-panel door, located on the far left, has a reeded wooden surround, decorated with paterae at the angles, an overlight, and a boxed hood supported by console brackets. The first and second floor windows are paired sash windows, each with a rendered lintel featuring a moulded rosette at the centre, flanked by vermiculated panels. The building has deep, bracketed wooden eaves. Modern alterations have been made to the building.
