Description
No 12 Market Place is a house and shop dating from the late 18th century, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a painted brick exterior and a hipped pantiled roof. The building has a prominent free-standing box plan and stands between two spaces. It is three storeys high with a two-bay front. The 19th-century wooden shop front includes a moulded fascia and cornice, along with a 20th-century glazed door and windows with glazing bars. The first floor has two glazing bar sash windows, while the second floor also has two similar windows. All windows are topped with flat rubbed brick arches. On the right side of the facade, there is a 19th-century two-leafed doorway with a moulded timber surround and plain cornice, situated above another single glazing bar sash window.
