Description
No. 2 Barn Hill is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has an L-plan layout. The off-centre doorway features the original six-panel door set in a flush ashlar surround. To the left of the door is a small window, and to the right is a large glazing bar sash window with 15 panes by 10 panes, also in a similar surround. Beyond this, there is a segment-headed archway. Above the doorway, there is another large glazing bar sash window with 15 panes by 10 panes, and to the left, a six by six pane glazing bar sash window. The two windows are hung sashes with glazing bars, while the rear wall is blank. The north-east facade of the rear wing has a large glazing bar sash window with 15 panes by 10 panes in a segment-headed flush ashlar surround on each floor. Nos. 2 to 6 Barn Hill, Barn Hill House, and the wall and gatepiers with the gazebo in the garden of Barn Hill House form a group.
