Description

This is a late 18th-century building, originally part of a range of buildings on the curve of Scotgate, now combined with numbers 70, 71, 72, and 73. The building is two storeys and has attics, constructed of coursed rubble. It has a Mansard roof covered in stone slates, with a single dormer window on each side, each dormer having double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. The upper floors feature two 3-light windows with flush frames and double-hung sashes containing glazing bars, topped with wooden lintels. The ground floor has two windows and a modern door. The ground floors of the building, along with the wider range, have been extensively altered to create a single shop. Numbers 14 to 16 form a group and also combine with numbers 70 to 73 on Scotgate to form another group.
