Description

This is a pair of houses, now combined into one, situated on Barn Hill. The southernmost half dates to the late 18th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. It features a moulded stone cornice and a low parapet concealing the roof, and is heavily covered in ivy. The building is three storeys high with three windows on each floor, all with double-hung sashes and glazing bars. The ground floor has an arcaded design with round-headed windows separated by pilasters topped with moulded capping. The central opening contains a circular window, while the outer two have round-arched windows with double-hung sashes and glazing bars. A plinth runs along the base. A well-moulded stone stack is also present. The northern half of the building dates to the 17th century and has modern casement windows set in flush frames. This section has one single window and one three-light window on the first floor, and one three-light window on the ground floor. A modern four-panel door, with two glazed panels, is set in a plain stone frame featuring a rusticated keystone and a moulded stone pediment on brackets. A good stone stack and a plinth are also present.
