Description
14 Barn Hill is a massive three-storey house built in the early 19th century, constructed from ashlar stone. It features a moulded plinth, bands between the storeys, and a cornice. The building has a small parapet and five windows with plain reveals, which are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. There is a cornice and band above the ground floor. The centre section of the house is slightly set forward and has a round-arched doorway with a door made of six fielded panels, topped by a semi-circular glazed fanlight. The return elevation on the south side has a more elaborate window treatment, with pilastered mullions dividing the sash windows in a Venetian style, and a pediment above the second-storey windows. The rear of the property is finished in coursed rubble. This house is part of a group that includes the garage premises at No 9A, Nos 9, 10, the Sunday School, and Nos 12 to 17, as well as Nos 1 to 8, all located at All Saints' Place.
