Description
16 Barn Hill is a late 16th century, low two-storey house constructed from coursed rubble. The building features four two-light windows with moulded labels, although the stonework of the windows has been restored and possibly lengthened. On the ground floor, there are three windows with leaded glazing. The roof is made of stone slate, and there is a rendered plinth. The low doorway has a moulded four-centred arch beneath a rectangular label. A stone surrounding the doorway is inscribed with contemporary lettering that reads "I.H, 1695." The house has one stone chimney stack with brick insertions. This property is part of a group that includes the garage premises to No 9A, Nos 9, 10, the Sunday School, and Nos 12 to 17, as well as Nos 1 to 8 on All Saints' Place.
