Description
No. 49 Oxford Street is a house dating from around 1800. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled Welsh slate roof with a brick stack at one end. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall, presenting a symmetrical three-window facade. A semi-circular arch is located above an early 19th-century beaded six-panel door, which has four glazed panels, and this door is flanked by square bays that contain later 19th-century plate-glass windows. Above the eight-pane sash windows, there are keyed flat arches set in moulded wood architraves, as well as blind windows in the center bay. An early 19th-century downpipe is also present. The house is included in the register for its group value.
