Description
No. 81 High Street is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century that has been altered. It is constructed from coursed squared stone and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and five bays. At the base, there is a plinth. On the left side, there is a six-panel door, with a horned 16-pane sash window to its right, both situated beneath a single long lintel that is tooled to resemble voussoirs. To the right, there is a blocked doorway flanked by horned 16-pane sash windows set in stone surrounds with chamfered outer arrises of the jambs. On the first floor, bays one and four have blocked window openings, while the other bays contain unhorned 16-pane sashes, all set above a continuous sill band. The roof is hipped, with oversailing, bracketed eaves and a central stack. This building is included for its group value.
