Description
Estate Cottage, dating from the early 18th century with 19th-century alterations, is built from coursed ironstone rubble and features a pantile roof. The roof has one stone-coped gable and a kneeler, along with single gable and ridge brick stacks. The cottage is two stories tall with a four-bay front. The right two bays are slightly advanced and feature an off-centre panelled door that is covered by a 20th-century timber porch. To the left, there is a two-light casement window with a segmental head, while the right side has two two-light glazing bar casements with timber lintels. On the first floor, there are three smaller wide two-light glazing bar casements set into the eaves. The right corner of the building is rounded and has an unusual kneeler, which may indicate that the cottage was originally used for agricultural purposes. Inside, the cottage retains a chamfered beam with run-out stops and a small late 18th-century panelled cupboard.
