Description

Estate Cottages, located on Church Street in Denton, were originally two cottages but have been converted into a single house. They date from the early 18th century and have undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. It has a plain tiled roof with two yellow brick gable stacks.

The front of the building is two stories high and consists of four bays. The entrance is off-centre, with a planked door. To the left of the door is a three-light glazing bar casement set in an earlier ashlar surround. To the right, there is another three-light glazing bar casement and a pair of 20th-century garage doors beneath a concrete lintel. On the first floor, there is a three-light glazing bar casement and a pair of two-light glazing bar casements. All openings, except for the left-hand ground floor window, have timber lintels. The cottages are included in the register for their group value.
