Description

Shepherd's Knoll and West Side Cottage are likely originally four cottages, now combined into two houses. The buildings date from the mid-18th century, with later alterations. They are constructed of squared coursed ironstone and coursed ironstone rubble, with steeply pitched thatched roofs, brick ridge and end stacks. The houses have two storeys and a five-window range overall, with two separate entrances. A 20th-century door is on the left, and a panelled and glazed door is on the right, both with wooden lintels. The ground floor windows consist of two 2-light metal casements in wooden frames, and one 2-light wood mullioned and transomed window. The first floor windows include four 3-light metal casements in wooden frames, and one 2-light 20th-century window. Wood lintels are present throughout. The interiors have not been inspected.
