Description
Goodmayes is an early 18th-century house with later additions. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a steeply pitched thatched roof and brick end stacks. The original plan comprised two units. The two-storey, two-window front has an approximately central entrance with a plank door set in a wooden frame beneath a wooden lintel, now with a 20th-century thatched porch. The entrance is flanked by a three-light and a four-light metal casement window in wooden frames on the ground floor. The first floor has a two-light and a three-light metal casement window in wooden frames. All windows have wooden lintels, lead cames, wrought-iron casement fasteners and springs. A fire plaque is also present. A lintel is said to be dated D 1724 E. The interior was not inspected. The property was formerly known as Prospect Cottage.
