Description
Maria's House is a Grade II listed building located in Sibford Ferris. It consists of two sections built in the 17th and 18th centuries, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The house is constructed from uncoursed and coursed ironstone rubble. The left part, dating from the 17th century, features a raised wood shingle roof and has a two-unit plan across two storeys. The south end facing the road includes a three-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor and a two-light stone mullioned window in the attic. The entrance is located on the return side and includes a plank door with a hood above it. To the left of the door, there is a three-light wood casement window and a two-light casement window above, both with wood lintels. The right part, built in the 18th century, also has a wood shingle roof and coped stone gables with moulded kneelers. It features brick end stacks on stone bases and follows a two-unit plan across two storeys plus an attic. The right section has a two-window range with three-light metal casements in wood frames, also with wood lintels, on both the ground and first floors, along with two 20th-century skylights. The interior has not been inspected.
