Description

This is a pair of houses, now combined into a single dwelling. The building dates to 1791, as indicated by a stone datestone, but may have earlier origins from the 17th century, with alterations in the 18th and 20th centuries. The construction is of raised ironstone rubble with a tiled roof, brick ridge and end stacks. The layout consists of a single-unit and a two-unit plan. The two-storey front has a four-window arrangement. A 20th-century door and wood lintel provide access to the left-hand side. A blocked doorway, featuring stone surrounds and a wood lintel, is located on the right. The ground floor has casement windows of 2 and 3 lights, with wood lintels. Similar windows are present on the first floor, also with wood lintels. The interior is reported to include an inglenook fireplace and exposed beams.
