Description

Barn Close is a late 17th-century house, subject to later alterations. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a steeply pitched C20 tile roof, a brick ridge stack, and a brick end stack set on a stone base. The house follows a 4-unit plan and has a 4-window front. The off-centre, right-hand entrance features a panelled door and a wood lintel. The ground floor includes two-light and three-light wooden casement windows, alongside a canted bay window. The first floor has four three-light metal casement windows within wooden frames. Wood lintels are used throughout. The windows contain some crown glass, lead cames, and wrought-iron casement fasteners and springs. The interior has not been inspected.
