Description
49 and 51 High Street are a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century with 19th-century alterations. They are constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and feature a thatched roof, with brick stacks at the ends and along the ridge. The cottages have a two-unit plan and are two stories tall, presenting a four-window range. There are 20th-century doors located to the left and right of the center, each with wooden lintels and hoods. The windows are primarily horizontal sliding sash types on both the ground and first floors, except for two 20th-century casement windows to the left of center. All windows have chamfered blue brick sills and wooden lintels, and the first-floor windows are set within eyebrow dormers. The interiors have not been inspected.
