Description
Corner Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, topped with a thatch roof and featuring brick end stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and is two stories high with a four-window range.
The entrance is a part-glazed plank door located to the right of center, which has a wooden lintel and a gabled hood above it. To the left of center is a small one-light window with a chamfered wooden lintel, while three-light casement windows are positioned to the left and right of center on both the ground and first floors, all featuring wooden lintels. The right gable is stone-coped and includes kneelers.
To the left, there is a two-story, one-window extension from the 20th century that includes a carriage arch. Inside, the cottage features chamfered spine beams, an open fireplace with a boxed bressumer, and a stone fireplace with a Tudor-arched head.
