Description
The Forge is a house that has been divided into two properties, located on Green Street in Milton Malsor. It dates from the mid-18th century and has undergone some alterations and additions in the 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed squared ironstone and features a pantile roof with brick ridge and end stacks. It has a three-unit plan and stands two stories tall with an attic, presenting a three-window range.
The entrance to No. 44 is a six-panel door located to the right of the center, which is framed by a wooden lintel and a trellis porch. To the left of the center is a 20th-century part-glazed door, also with a wooden lintel. No. 44 has a two-light casement window to the right of its door and another on the first floor, both with wooden lintels. The remaining ground floor windows are three-light casement windows, also featuring wooden lintels. The building is adorned with quoins, a storey band, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. To the left, there is a 20th-century two-story, one-window extension.
Inside, the property retains chamfered spine beams and old four-panel doors.
