Description
This is a cottage located at 2 Collingtree Road, dating from the 18th century, with some alterations and additions made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and features a thatched roof with brick stacks at each end. It has a two-unit plan and is two stories high with a single window range. The main facade faces Green Street and includes two-light sliding casement windows on the ground floor, which have chamfered wood lintels, along with a small fire window at the far right of the ground floor that also has a stop-chamfered wood lintel. On the first floor, there is a three-light casement window set in an eyebrow dormer, and the gables are tile-coped with brick kneelers. At the rear right, there is a two-story, slate-roofed 20th-century wing that includes a present entrance. Inside, the cottage features diamond stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer. The building is included for its group value.
