Description
The Grange is a house, formerly a farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century but with earlier origins. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and features a slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and stands three stories tall with a five-window range. To the left of the center, there is a six-panel door with panelled reveals and a reeded wood surround topped with a straight hood. The windows are 16-pane sash types with flat-arched heads, except for those on the ground and first floors to the left, which have stone lintels and keyblocks. The exterior includes a plinth, quoins, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Inside, there is an open-well staircase with turned balusters, which may have been rearranged, an open fireplace with a cambered ogee-stop-chamfered bressumer, stone-flagged floors, and stone cellars.
