Description
The Hollies is a house, formerly a farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a 20th-century plain tile roof that has replaced the original thatch. The building has a three-unit lobby entry plan and is two stories high with a three-window range. There is a four-panel door located to the left of center, which is topped by a wood lintel and set within a 20th-century porch. The windows are three-light casements on both the ground and first floors, also with wood lintels, and the first-floor windows are set in eyebrow dormers. At the rear right, there is a two-storey wing.
Inside, the house features chamfered spine beams with ogee stops and an open fireplace with a stop-chamfered cambered bressumer. The floors are stone-flagged, with a chequered tile floor in the kitchen. There is a winder staircase with a landing and a central newel post.
