Description
Thatch End is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with 20th-century alterations and additions. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and features a thatch roof with brick stacks at each end. The building has a two-unit plan and is two stories high, presenting a four-window range. The ground and first floors have two-light leaded windows, with the first-floor windows being much smaller, and all windows have wooden lintels. There is a two-story brick extension on the left side, and the entrance is located at the rear. The original entrance was likely a blocked door on the right side elevation, while the current door at the rear is from the 20th century. Inside, the cottage includes stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a stop-chamfered bressumer.
