Description

This building is an estate cottage known as Church Trees, dating from the late 17th century and altered in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble with ironstone quoins and ashlar dressings. The roof is made of pantiles and features a single red brick gable and ridge stacks. The cottage has an L-shaped plan and is two stories high with a four-bay front. The left bay is lower, advanced, and has its own gable.

The entrance is an off-centre half-glazed door, with a two-light glazing bar casement window to the left and a three-light glazing bar casement window to the right, both featuring segmental heads. Further to the left, there is a two-light chamfered stone mullioned window with a cornice. On the first floor, there is a two-light glazing bar casement window at the eaves and another two-light glazing bar casement window with a segmental head. Inside, the cottage has roughly chamfered ceiling beams and joists.
