Description
The Welby Arms is a public house located on Church Street in Denton. It was built in the early 19th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with red brick side walls and dressings, topped by a hipped pantile roof featuring two brick ridge stacks.
The front of the building is irregular, with two storeys and four bays. It has a dogtooth eaves course and an off-centre 20th-century door with a fanlight and a contemporary wooden surround. To the left of the door, there is a pair of glazing bar sashes, while to the right, there is a single glazing bar sash. On the first floor, there are four similar windows, all of which have segmental brick heads. The upper windows are fitted with 20th-century louvred shutters.
