Description

Pear Tree Cottage, also known as Estate Cottage No. 120, is a 17th-century cottage that was altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble, with a brick wall on the right side and brick dressings. The cottage features a steeply pitched pantile roof with two brick gable stacks. It is a single-storey building with attics and has a three-bay front. The entrance is an off-centre planked door, with a single two-light and a three-light glazing bar casement window to the right. All openings have chamfered wooden lintels and brick hood moulds. The gabled dormers contain two-light glazing bar casements and have boarded cheeks. This cottage is included in the register for its group value.
