Description

No. 42 High Street is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a steeply pitched pantile roof that has two gable stacks, one made of brick and the other of stone. The cottage is single storey with attics and has a three-bay front. The entrance is an off-centre half-glazed door, with a pair of two-light casements to the left, all set under timber lintels. The roof includes three gabled dormers, each with two-light casements and rendered cheeks. To the right, there is a lower single-storey addition that contains another two-light casement.
