Description

The village cross in Swinstead, dating from the 14th century, is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It is constructed from ashlar and features an octagonal plan. The cross shaft and square base are situated on a chamfered plinth and two octagonal steps. The shaft, which rises with stop chamfers, stands approximately 4 feet high.
