Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid to late 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a 20th-century ridged tile roof with brick end stacks. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is two stories high, with a three-window range. A central six-panel door is set within a 20th-century porch. The ground and first floors have two-light leaded casement windows, with the ground floor windows featuring flat-arched ironstone heads and keyblocks, while the first-floor windows have ironstone sills and wooden lintels. An ironstone band runs at the first-floor level, and there are ironstone kneelers from the former stone-coped gables. Inside, the cottage includes chamfered spine beams, a bread oven, and shutters. Originally, the cottage had a thatched roof.
