Description

Number 84 and the attached butcher's shop is a house and shop dated 1754, with alterations from the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features a plain-tile roof, with brick stacks at the ends and internally. The building has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, displaying a three-window range.

To the right of the centre, there is a four-panel part-glazed door with a moulded wood surround. A second four-panel part-glazed door is located to the far right within a 19th-century lean-to brick porch. The windows on both the ground and first floors are two-light casements with stop-chamfered wood lintels. Above the door, there is a datestone inscribed with G/TE/1754. The building features a plinth, a plain stone eaves cornice, and two hipped roof dormers that have two-light casements and stone-coped gables with kneelers. The one-storey butcher's shop projects to the right and includes a large hipped bay window facing the road. The interior has not been inspected.
