Description

Pine Trees Farmhouse is a house, originally a farmhouse, dating to around 1700, with a raised first floor and alterations and extensions from the early 19th century. It is constructed of squared ironstone, with limestone banding. The roof is of ridged tiles, with brick end and ridge stacks. The house has a three-unit plan and a three-storey, three-window front. A six-panel door is located to the left of centre, with an overlight, stone lintel, and a gabled hood supported on brackets. To the left is a canted bay window with a twelve-pane sash window to the front and eight-pane sashes to the sides, and a brick base. Wood mullion and transom windows are to the right of centre, with stone sills and moulded, eared stone surrounds with key blocks, alternating with blank windows that have similar surrounds. The first floor has three two-light casement windows with moulded stone sills, eared stone surrounds, and key blocks. The second floor has 20th-century replacement windows with flat-arched stone heads. A chamfered plinth and chamfered quoins are present. There is a three-storey, one-window extension to the left, with matching stonework, a canted bay window to the ground floor, a 20th-century window to the first floor replacing a sash window, and a sixteen-pane sash to the second floor, both with flat-arched stone heads. The interior was not inspected.
