Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid 17th century, with alterations and extensions from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is constructed of finely jointed, coursed squared ironstone and features a steeply pitched stone slate roof laid in diminishing courses. The house has stone ridge and end stacks with renewed blue brick shafts, and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. The building has a two-unit plan that is extended by a rear wing and additional structures, roughly forming an L-plan. It stands two storeys plus an attic and has a two-window range.
The original central entrance, which is now blocked, features a moulded stone architrave and an arched stone lintel. To the left, there is a 20th-century French door, while to the right is a five-light stone mullioned window with mullions of ovolo section. A similar window is found on the first floor to the right, alongside a renewed 20th-century four-light stone mullion window. The house also has two 20th-century dormers. The wrought-iron casement fasteners, crown glass, and wrought-iron springs are notable features, although there are no hood moulds or label stops.
On the left end, there are 19th-century windows with four and three lights, featuring cambered arched stone heads and metal casements in wood frames. The attic contains a two-light stone mullion window with mullions of ovolo section. The 19th-century wing has metal casements in wood frames and cambered, arched stone heads. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered beam.
