Description
Ivy House Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with later additions from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and features a slate roof, with brick stacks at the ends and along the ridge. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic.
The gable end facing the road includes a ground floor 3-light casement window with a hood-mould, a first floor 3-light chamfered stone mullion window with leaded lights and a hood-mould, and a 2-light chamfered stone mullion window with leaded lights and a hood-mould in the gable. To the left, the late 18th century wing has a 4-panel door with an overlight and a stone lintel featuring a keyblock, positioned to the left of the older range. There are also tripartite sash windows with stone lintels and keyblocks, located to the left of the door on the ground floor and above it on the first floor. The building is topped with stone coped gables that have kneelers.
