Description
The Mill House is a house that was formerly a corn mill and mill house, dated 1685 with 18th century and 19th century additions. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a tile roof and features brick end and ridge stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a two-window range and a three-window 19th century range to the left. The central door of the older range has a leaded overlight and a flat hood, flanked by 20-pane horned sash windows on both the ground and first floors, all featuring flat arches. The eaves are made of stone, and the gables are coped with stone and have kneelers. The 19th century wing to the left includes one and two-light casement windows with segmental brick lintels, a brick cornice, and a coped stone gable on the left side. Datestones on the rear indicate the older range was inscribed EG/1685 and the other EH/1868. Inside, the hall features an open fireplace with a bar stop-chamfered bressumer and a bar stop-chamfered spine beam. The mill machinery in the 19th century wing has been removed.
