Description

The farmhouse dates to the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with an artificial stone slate roof, brick ridge and end stacks on stone bases. Originally a 3-unit through-passage plan, it is now two storeys and an attic, with a 4-window front. A plank door, featuring a 4-centred arch head and hood mould, is located to the left of centre. To the left of the door is a 3-light casement window with a timber lintel. A shallow projection to the far left houses a bread oven. To the right of the door is a 4-light stone mullion window with a hood mould, and a 3-light casement window to the far right, also with a hood mould. The first floor features a 3-light casement window to the left, a single leaded light window to the left of centre, a 3-light casement to the right, and a 2-light stone mullion window to the far right. A small limestone dial is situated between the right and far-right first-floor windows. The right-hand gable has a stone coped detail. The interior contains an open fireplace, stop-chamfered spine beams, and stone-flagged floors.
