Description

Nos. 8 and 10 Pool Street are a pair of houses dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. They are constructed of coursed squared ironstone and feature asbestos slate roofs with brick ridge stacks. The buildings are arranged in an L-plan.

The entrance on the left side has a 6-panel part-glazed door, which is topped by a timber lintel and a 19th-century gabled hood. The front-facing wing has two-light casement windows with timber lintels on both the ground and first floors. The gable end of the wing, which is at a right angle to the street, features a 4-light mullion window on the ground floor with a hood mould, a similar 3-light window on the first floor, and a 2-light leaded casement window with a timber lintel in the attic. There is also a 20th-century conservatory porch on the left. The interior has not been inspected. The buildings are included for their group value.
