Description
Nos. 6 and 8 Cross Hayes Lane are a pair of houses, now combined into one, dating from the late 17th century. The building is constructed of rendered limestone rubble and features a brick gable stack and a stone slate roof with two paired front gables. It has two storeys and an attic, with a symmetrical front that includes two large gables below the ridge. Originally, there were paired doorways, but now there is one doorway with a 20th-century door. The ground floor has 10/10-pane sash windows to the right and an 8/8-pane window to the left, while the first floor has an 8/8-pane window to the right and a 10/10-pane window to the left, along with tall attic casements. At the rear, there is a gabled south range featuring timber lintels above large reinstated stone mullion and transom windows with 3/6 panes. The interior has not been inspected.
