Description
No. 15 Oxford Street is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with a rear extension and mid-19th century alterations to its windows. The building is constructed from roughcast limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. It originally had a single-room plan, now with an extended rear gabled range. The house is two storeys tall and has a two-window range.
The right-hand side has a recessed doorway with timber pilasters supporting a shallow gabled canopy topped with a finial. This doorway includes a three-pane overlight and a six-panel door. The ground floor has an 8/8-pane sash window, while the first floor has two 6/6-pane sash windows located beneath the eaves.
Inside, notable features include a flagged side passage with a semi-circular arch, a right-hand stair flight with winders at both the top and bottom, and ground- and first-floor windows on the left side facing No. 17. These windows are three- and two-light designs with leaded metal casements and round turnbuckles.
