Description
These are two 18th-century cottages located on South Street in Woodford Halse. They are constructed of coursed squared ironstone with an artificial slate roof, and feature brick end and ridge stacks set on stone bases. The cottages are two storeys and have an attic; they present a three-window facade. Number 8, located to the left of centre, features a plank door with timber lintels, and three-light casement windows to both the ground and first floors, all with stop-chamfered timber lintels. Number 6, on the right, has a 20th-century door with a timber lintel, flanked by two-light 20th-century casement windows to the ground and first floors, all with timber lintels. Brick eaves are present. The interior of number 6 includes a stop-chamfered spine beam and an open fireplace.
