Description
Tews Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, although it has earlier origins. It is built of coursed dressed ironstone and features a slate roof with stone end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and consists of two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range. The central entrance has a six-panel door topped by a straight stone hood supported by timber brackets, with a blocked window above it. There are 16-pane sash windows on the ground floor to the left and right, and 12-pane sashes on the first floor. The roof includes two dormers with flat roofs and two-light leaded casement windows. Architectural details include a chamfered plinth, quoins, stone eaves, and stone coped gables with kneelers. To the right, there is a single-storey extension, and a rear wing that may be older but features 20th-century glazing. The right quoins are dated 1787. The interior has not been inspected.
