Description
Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, with earlier origins and later alterations and additions made in 1909. The building is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and features a slate roof, along with brick end and ridge stacks. It has a three-unit plan and is two stories high with a four-window range.
To the left of the center, there is a six-panel, part-glazed door with a fanlight, panelled reveals, and a pilastered wood surround topped with an open pediment. Canted bay windows flank the door, featuring 12-pane sash windows at the front and 8-pane sashes on the sides. A 16-pane sash window is located on the ground floor to the right, while the first floor has 12-pane sashes, all with flat-arched heads and keyblocks. The exterior includes quoins, chamfered stone eaves, and a stone-coped gable with kneelers. A datestone inscribed "HCD/1909" is found in the left gable. Inside, there is a moulded spine beam.
