Description

A pair of houses on High Street, Harpole, dating from the mid-18th century. They are constructed of coursed squared ironstone with slate roofs and brick end stacks. Each house has a two-unit plan and a two-storey, four-window facade.

Number 23 has a 20th-century door set within a pegged wood surround, featuring a wood lintel and a curved metal hood supported by brackets. A two-light casement window is on the left, and a 20th-century shop window is on the right. The first floor has two two-light casement windows, all with wood lintels. The eaves were raised in brick following the removal of thatch.

Number 25 has a central six-panel, part-glazed door with a straight hood on brackets. The ground floor has three-light casement windows, while the first floor has a four-light casement window on the left and a three-light casement window on the right, all with wood lintels. A blocked attic window is located in the right gable, featuring a double-chamfered stone surround.
