Description

No. 54 Upper High Street is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is built of coursed squared ironstone with a slate roof and features brick stacks at the ends and along the ridge. The house has a three-unit plan and is two stories tall, with a three-window range. To the right of the center, there is a six-panel door that has a pegged wood surround, a wood lintel, and a gabled hood supported by brackets. The ground and first floors each have three-light leaded casement windows, all of which are topped with stop-chamfered wood lintels. The building also has quoins and is included for its group value.
