Description

Nos. 1 and 3 Navigation Street are a pair of houses dating to around 1800. They are built of red brick in a distinctive Measham bond, with dentilled brick eaves and a 20th-century tile roof. The buildings have a central ridge stack and a projecting stack at the left end. The facades are arranged over three storeys and originally had three windows each. The second floor retains original two-light casement windows with flat lintels. Lower windows have been replaced, some with cambered lintels. A single-storey extension is situated on the right end. The rear elevation features a recessed giant arch on the right side, with two three-light casement windows and a 10/10 sash window on the second floor, again with flat lintels, and renewed windows with cambered lintels below. Stone sills are present throughout.
